Straight off a four-fight win streak, Top Prospect Christos “The Spartan” Giagos signs with the UFC.
Coming in hot from a stunning defeat over Dakota Cochrane in Resurrection Fighting Alliance by way of flying knee in the second round, Giagos (10-2) was fast-tracked by the UFC to his debut in Brazil for UFC 179: Aldo Vs. Mendes 2 on October 25th. His first bout is set against undefeated Gilbert burns in the 155 pound weight class. Burns comes down in weight from the welterweight class to join Giagos for this fight.
Its well noted that Burns (8-0) is no slouch in the ring given his victory last July over Andreas Stahl but it is equally known that he has had issues cutting weight in the past which could play a part in his cut for this fight.
This Rio de Janeiro card is stacked with talent with Jose Aldo Vs. Chad Mendes as the main event. Although the victories have yet to be had, this card will not disappoint.
